Apparently due to blue-laser diode production being behind schedule the Australiasian and European releases have been pushed into the distant future. March 2007. Hopefully if Mad Max style gangs haven't taken over the streets by then we can finally get a taste of what the Americans and Japanese will be getting for Christmas.
Of course Sony will have some competition once they do arrive in Australia with Microsoft just releasing record sales of the X Box 360 down under. The entrenched X Box and the high price just might scare a few people away. Maybe not everyone will be so willing to fork out $829.95 for the 20 gigabyte version, and $999.95 for the sixty gigabyte one when theres already a cheaper alternative with more games already out. Sony isn't won't just be competing against Microsoft though as the Nintendo Wii is getting released in Australia on December 7 retailing for about $399.95 (about $500 cheaper than the Playstation 3). A royal rumble of titanic proportions looks set take place in the next six months, who will come out victorious? Only time will tell my friends.
