Free Neopets Toys and Virtual Items from Burger King
September 6th 2008 20:28
All through September in the US and Canada, Burger King restaurants will be giving away Neopets Toys, Stickers and free Virtual Item Codes with the purchase of a Kids' Meal. What's that?? Flamebroiled goodness, AND a real life Rainbow Kacheek! Woot!
The toys are typical plush or vinyl promotional sizes. The Virtual Item Code is located on the Kids Meal bag, so be sure to get your Neopets branded Kids' meal Bag.
If you haven't played Neopets before, you can sign up for an account here. It is a Multiplayer online game, where you have a pet (or four), a home, a shop, and over 150 Flash games you can play for points, and then the points can be spent on your pets, your home . . . Get the picture?
If you already have an account, sign in to claim your virtual item code. You can go directly to the BK code redeem area here: http://www.neopets.com/bk/
Redeem your code, go to your inventory to check your Item. These items are really hot right now, and since they are limited edition and branded as a Burger King promotion, they have a very high collectible value. Think before you sell, eat, or use yours up!
Since these items will be released only once, we can assume the price will rise. Many of them are selling right now at WAY OVER 100 K Neopoints. For a free prize from Burger King . . .all I can say is RICH NOOB! So, if virtual wealth is important to you, and you want to get the biggest amount of pixel value for your investment, check the price carefully. Use the shop wiz (several times!!) to verify the price for items less than 100 K. If they are over 100 K you will have to sell through the Trading Post or auctions.
You should also consider holding on to these items, and selling them in the future after their value increases. Many of these items are "consumibles" and will disappear with their first use. They will not be sold in the Neopian shops, so the numbers will decrease over time.
Before you run out and start investing though . . .remember that we are at the beginning of September and these items just came out. Four weeks from now, there will be four times as many of these items available (that everyone just got for free, including some of you noobs who will immediately sell for 99 NP). We can assume that there are tons of these bags and codes out there in the Burger King stockrooms.
So get out there and get your Kids' Meal. Sadly, I am not in the US or Canada, so I DON'T GET TO BUY THEM. Who knows if overseas versions will be provided. I cannot access the code area from my overseas location.
So I will have to settle for buying up the virtual items instead, and I'm having lots of fun doing it. If you like my tips, you can go buy a BK Kids meal, and FEDEX it to me down here. I hope I get a new background from my Virtual Code!

Personally I don't believe in Real World trading for game stuff. First, it's a violation of author's rights in most cases, and in this case . . . since it's just the bags . . . it is not creative rights being violated, but most likely involves some sort of workplace misdeed, and of course all the little kiddies who get a normal bag instead of a branded bag with a code. 90% don't realize, but the 10 who do . . .
So, I think I will skip buying any black market BK bags, unless of course you really dug them out of the trash, and they are dirty.
