Guide to making Neopoints on Neopets

August 10th 2008 23:30

Neopets is a classic online game. It was created by a pair of young designer/developers in England. It has undergone many changes since it's original days, and has now been purchased by Viacom (I wonder how many Neopoints the creators got for that deal?).

At first glance, Neopets seems a bit infantile and heavily marketed. But there are many cool aspects that make this a fun time-waster for serious gamers (and even adults).

In my opinion, the best part of the site are the 100's of flash games. They are all free to play, and have gameplay that matches most arcade and console games. Plus, if you do decide to create and account and have a Neopet, your gaming will earn you plenty of Neopoints to spend on your new pal.

But of course, if you want to be a Rich Noob, you will have to spend some time on the best of all online games . . . .making money.

Making money at Neopets is good fun, especially if you like shopping. On Neopets it's all about the items.

Here are three super tips to help you get started on Neopets with enough cash to outfit your pet in style:

1. Play some games! You can make up to 3000 NP per game per day. You can only play each game for Neopoints three times, for up to 1000 points each. Make a list of the games you like to play, and play those three times every day. Here are some great choices of games that pay high points, and don't take long to play:

Meepit Juice Break
Faerie Cloud Racers
Hasee Bounce

2. Play the stock market. You are limited to buying only 1000 shares a day. Shares range in value from 0 to over 100 Neopoints per share. You can only buy stocks that are tradig at 15 or more per share. The prices rise and fall rather randomly (this is a cartoon after all).

To do well in the stock market all you have to do is buy 15,000 NP worth of stock every day at 15 (since that is the lowest price) and hold it until you have a chance to sell it for a good profit. I sell above 30 or 40, depending on how regularly I am playing.

3. Learn to buy low and sell high. You can buy from Official restock shops for cheaper, or trade up in the trading post. You can also use the shop wizard to find a common low price, and then keep frefreshing for the lowest bargain to resell in your own shop.
