Making Millions at Runescape
August 6th 2008 04:30
Do adults play MMORPG's? The answer is yes, and we're very good at it.
Well, actually I'm not very good at Runescape, hence the Noob part. But I am (almost always, he he) good at making virtual cash on games! The trick is to play smarter not harder.
I am going to share my best tip for making money on Runescape. There are lots of other tips available (I'll give you the links in a minute . . .) but this is really my best method, and hardly anyone else uses it.
Oh and this tip is only for paying members. As with most online games, the best money making opportunities are almost always provided for members (another reason we adults can fare well at these games. We can afford the top level playing experience, with our jobs.
Enough chatter, and straight to the tips. If you are confused by any of the items or places mentioned, look it up in the Knowledge Base.
You will need to be able to travel to Karamja, and you have to have played the Tai Bwo Wannai mini game. If you have finished the Karamja Acheivement Diary (the easy tasks) you can get Karamja gloves. THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT, because they give you a better rate of exchange at the stores. Without them, you can still make a profit, just not as much.
First, buy some Shilo Village gems at the General Exchange. Prices can go up and down, but at the time of this blog entry . . . .Opal cost 46 gp, Jade cost 120, and Red Topaz cost 225. Buy as many as you want to start, they are very cheap. If you buy 1000 of each, you will have to spend 500K. That is way more than you need to start. Start with 100 each, or even 25.
Then, get your Karamja gloves and your NOTED gems and go to Gabooty, and trade his co/op. IF YOU ARE WEARING karamja gloves, you will get the following amount for the FIRST of each gem you sell. The coop pays in Trading Sticks. Opal 60, Jade 120, and Red Topaz 160. The more you sell, the less you will get for each. As the store fills up with stock, it will pay you less. But as you can see if you only sell a few of each type, you will get approximately one Trading Stick for each gp you invested in gems. To keep getting the highest payment, you will need to either change worlds, or wait while the stock goes down (play the mini game meanwhile, or try some woodcutting nearby. you can also leave and come back. You can sell up to about 25 of each type of gem, and you will get one Trading Stick for approximately 2 gp.
Your next step is to buy Tribal Clothing from Gabooty's coop. The prices are as follows *with Karamja gloves* Tribal Top, 300 trading sticks. Villager Robe 250 Trading Sticks. Ok, there are five pieces total, and they come in four different colors. Just as an example, a brown Tribal Top currently sells on the Grand Exchange for about 3000 gp. You paid about 300-600 gp for, by trading in the gems you bought.
As we say in all the money making guides, Rinse and repeat!! But for me this is a fun one, since the clothing is cool, it sells well, people really like buying it, and almost no one likes to go down to Karamja to get it.
Try it out, and tell me how you like it! Next installment, Farming for Cash!!
